How to Install IPTV on a Firestick (Step-by-Step)
To install IPTV on a Firestick: install the free Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore, use it to download a player app such as IPTV Smarters or TiviMate, open the player, choose “Login with Xtream Codes API”, and enter the username, password, and server URL from your Movarios welcome email. Channels and the EPG load automatically. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.
What you need
- A Fire TV Stick running Fire OS — NOT the newer Vega OS models (4K Select 2025, Stick HD 2026, Stick 4K 3rd gen 2026), which can't sideload. Check Settings → My Fire TV → About if unsure; our Vega OS explainer on the blog has the full model list.
- Around 15 Mbps internet for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K
- An active Movarios plan or the free 24-hour trial

Step-by-step setup
- 1
Install the Downloader app
From the Fire TV home screen, select the search icon and type “Downloader”. Install the orange app by AFTVnews — it's free and it's the standard way to install apps Amazon doesn't carry in its store.
- 2
Allow app installs from Downloader
Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install Unknown Apps, and switch Downloader to ON.
Tip: On newer Fire OS versions, unlock Developer Options first: Settings → My Fire TV → About, then press the select button on your device name 7 times.
- 3
Download your player app
Open Downloader, select the URL field, and enter the official APK address for your player — the IPTV Smarters or TiviMate APK from the developer's own site. Press Go and let the file download.
Tip: Only download from the developer's official site. Third-party APK mirrors are where bundled junk lives.
- 4
Install and open the player
When the download finishes, choose Install, then Open. Delete the APK file afterward to free up space — it's no longer needed.
- 5
Sign in with your Movarios details
Choose “Login with Xtream Codes API” (or Add User → Xtream Codes). Enter the username, password, and server URL from your welcome email — exactly as written, including the http:// and any port number.
- 6
Let channels and EPG load
The player downloads your channel list and TV guide on first login. Give it a minute on the first run — after that it opens straight to live TV.
Best player apps for Amazon Firestick
IPTV Smarters
Free, simple, works everywhere — the easiest first install.
TiviMate
The best interface and EPG on Fire TV. Premium features are a small yearly fee paid to the app maker, not to us.
Troubleshooting
Downloader can't download the APK
Check the URL for typos and confirm it's the developer's official address. Also make sure “Install unknown apps” is enabled for Downloader (step 2).
Login fails or shows “invalid details”
Re-enter the three fields exactly. The server URL includes http:// and sometimes a port like :8080, and a trailing space will break the login.
Channels load but the EPG is empty
Give the first sync a few minutes, then use the app's “Refresh EPG” option in settings.

Amazon Firestick FAQ
Do I need to jailbreak my Firestick?
No. “Jailbreaking” is just the misleading name for allowing installs from outside Amazon's store — the setting in step 2. It changes nothing else about the device.
Why isn't IPTV Smarters in the Amazon Appstore?
Amazon doesn't list most IPTV players, which is why the standard method is the free Downloader app. If your region's Appstore does show a player you like, installing directly works too.
Can I use the same login on my Firestick and phone?
Yes — one subscription works on all your devices. How many stream at the same time follows your plan's connection count.
Is TiviMate free?
The base app is free with limited features. Premium (about $10/year) is paid to the app developer — their fee, not ours — and it's optional.
Does this work on the new Fire TV Stick 4K Select or the 2026 sticks?
No — those run Amazon's Vega OS, which doesn't allow sideloading at all. This guide works on Fire OS models like the 4K Max (2nd gen). Our blog's Fire OS vs Vega OS guide has the full model list and the best alternatives.
