How to Get IPTV on Roku (What Actually Works)
Roku removed IPTV player apps from its channel store years ago, so there is no native way to install one. What actually works in 2026: mirror your phone or computer screen to the Roku — AirPlay from iPhone or Mac, Cast/Smart View from Android or Windows — while a player app runs on that device. Or plug in a $25–40 Fire TV Stick, which runs IPTV players natively.
What you need
- A Roku with a current OS
- A phone or computer on the same Wi-Fi network
- An active Movarios plan or the free 24-hour trial
- No plan yet? Start the free 24 hours trial
Step-by-step setup
- 1
Enable AirPlay on the Roku (iPhone/Mac)
On the Roku: Settings → Apple AirPlay and HomeKit → turn AirPlay on.
- 2
Set up Movarios on your phone or computer
Install a player app on that device and sign in with your welcome-email details — use our iPhone, Android, or PC/Mac guide for that part.
- 3
Mirror to the Roku
iPhone/Mac: Control Center → Screen Mirroring → select your Roku. Android: Settings → Connected Devices → Cast. Windows: press Win + K.
- 4
Play your channel
Whatever plays in the phone or computer player now shows on the TV, audio included.
Best player apps for Roku
Screen mirroring
Works tonight, costs nothing, depends on Wi-Fi.
Fire TV Stick
The better daily answer — native players, no phone involved.
Troubleshooting
Roku doesn't appear in AirPlay or Cast
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Restart both, then try again.
Lag while mirroring
Mirroring rides your Wi-Fi. A 5 GHz network helps; for daily viewing, a Firestick is the smoother answer.

Roku FAQ
Will Roku bring IPTV apps back?
Nothing suggests it — Roku's store policy hasn't changed in years. Plan on mirroring or an external stick.
Is mirroring quality worse?
It mirrors what your phone decodes. HD looks fine, but it does drain the phone battery — native apps are better for long sessions.
What about the Roku Media Player?
It plays local and USB media files, not live IPTV playlists. It's not a workaround.
